Summer
We made the most of the heatwave and made forest ice cream!
We have been tree climbing, shelter making and using tools.
The forest has changed again and there are lots of nettles and brambles and everything looks very overgrown!
Unfortunately, we have noticed lot of littler in the public woods this half term. We have used litter pickers to pick up lots of plastic to help keep the woods clean.
Spring
We have had some signs of spring this week and have haven looking for buds, more birds, spring bulbs and sunshine. We have been making bridges across the small beck and making a forest spa!
Winter
We have been working on our fire lighting skills this half term and have been doing lots of cooking by toasting. We have toasted marshmallows, crumpets and cinnamon apples.
We have also started using some tools. We have learnt how to use sheath knives safely to whittle wood.
We hve also been building dens, climbing treesand forest bathing!
Autumn
Here is a selection of things we have ben up to so far. We have been exploring both our school site and Haig woods. We have picked apples from the school gardens and washed and eaten those. We have been tree climbing and hammock swinging, as well as making homes for the little people in the woods.
We have also made tree sprites from clay and natural craft resources.
